Smashing Bourbon

This was definitely meant to be published for the 26th or December, so I do apologize for the intense ass delay, but I do hope you’ve had a lovely holiday season. My resolution is to be more consistent and strict with my scheduled posts. Feel free to hold myself accountable.

We finally managed to create a Perrier Cocktail without completely butchering the original recipe! I also have found my new favorite that I keep making consistently, and it actually involves using the cocktail utensils I spent too much money on. What a concept, actually utilizing items you paid for.

For our penultimate week of #5WeeksofHolidayDrinx, we have the Winter Bourbon Smash. I was only partially skeptical due to the amount of citrus (and we all know my history of citrus based cocktails) and jam, but I assumed it was meant to balanced that bourbon taste.

Either way, I was pleasantly surprised by the sweet aftertaste, and the initial flavor of orange that isn’t too overpowering. I would highly recommend trying this one out.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup ice (plus more for serving)

  • 2 Tbsp preserves or jam of choice (we went with organic  raspberry)

  • 2 Tbsp bourbon

  • 1 Tbsp triple sec

  • 2-3 Tbsp orange juice

  • Orange segments

  • A splash of Perrier Original

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Add ice, preserves, bourbon, triple sec and orange juice to a shaker and shake vigorously for 15 seconds.

  2. Pour into serving glass with a few ice cubes and top with a splash of Perrier. Garnish with orange slices and enjoy. Repeat for more drinks.

A CBD Dream — In a Cup, That Is.

I DID IT! I FINALLY FOLLOWED A RECIPE, AND IT DIDN’T TURN OUT HORRIBLY!

For those that were not aware, I have been an affiliate with Bloom Farms CBD for a few months now. I have been heavily reliant on their products as of recently, due to four wisdom teeth extractions, two baby teeth extractions, and a casual set of braces— all of which proceeded within a month’s time.

Needless to say, I was feining for anything to relieve the tension in and around my face and gums.

Upon trying Bloom Farms’ CBD tinctures, I noticed how unappealing the taste was; which wasn’t a complete turn off, but it was definitely a turn off nonetheless. One of their representative’s reached out and suggested to add the tincture to drinks or food. I was more annoyed that I hadn’t thought of that initially.

Which brings us to….CBD INFUSED HOLIDAY DRANX

Now, without further ado, I present you the CBD infused slow cooker caramel hot chocolate.

This is probably my favorite recipe so far. I love hot chocolate, and as much as I can’t stand anything heavily rich in flavors, this was one I could sip on in replacement of a desert. Ugh, y’all should really try this one. I’m dead ass lool

USE CODE: ARIEL.MICHELE FOR 15% OFF YOUR BLOOM FARMS CBD TINCTURE OR VAPE

Ingredients

  • 5 oz milk chocolate ( dark chocolate or a combination of both dark and milk chocolate works just as well)

  • 3 cups milk

  • 1/4 caramel candies ( I used soft and chewy)

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • Optional: Marshmallows, whipping cream and/or caramel sauce

Instructions

  • Add chocolate, caramels, milk and vanilla to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 2 hours. Stir the hot chocolate. If the chocolate or caramels are not completely melted, cover and allow to cook for 15-25 minutes longer.

  • Serve hot with marshmallows, whipped cream, chocolate shavings and/or caramel sauce if desired.

We turned Lil Fizz into a lil Drank

In my quest for holiday cocktails that can incorporate the many flavor options of Perrier, I stumbled across the Evergreen Swizzle. Initially, I thought it had some pizzazz with a bit of class whilst possibly having some affiliation to The Godfather of Rap, Snoop Dogg. Needless to say, amongst the findings through very shallow research, sadly there is no relation.

My goal originally was to stay as true to the recipes that google had lended me, but once the time came to actually purchase key ingredients, I found that either my local grocery stores or wallet was lacking.

Which now leads us to the Lil Fizz. A more affordable variant of the Evergreen Swizzle, if you will. This concoction (if used with minimal strained lime juice) will be considered a refreshing twist on your holiday season’s palette. An added bonus, it may also be served hot, just add a green tea bang and some honey. Ayyee!

Enjoy! & Drink Responsibly, y’all!

Discretionary Note: we (I) definitely added too much lime and ruined my entire batch but am definitely drinking it cos moneeeyyyy okay??

INGREDIENTS

  • 18oz Gin

  • 25oz St. Germain Liqueur

  • 3oz Freshly Strained Lime Juice (add 3oz more for a hot beverage option)

  • 22oz Perrier Lime or Original

INSTRUCTIONS

Combine the ingredients in a pitcher and stir well. Pour into 12 small bottles and chill for at least 4 hours (we definitely did not), until very cold. Serve with small rosemary sprigs.
